Summary
A peptide certificate of analysis may print a manufacturer, supplier, or similar name line and/or a laboratory name line for the lot on file. Inventory practice: after matching lot + name + strength, copy each printed name exactly into the correct note field — and do not treat a manufacturer line as a third-party lab (or the reverse). The phrase “third-party tested” remains supportable only when a laboratory is named on that lot’s certificate — see What "Third-Party Tested" Means When a Lab Is Named on the COA. This article covers reading printed name lines only — not inventing labs, not purity claims, and not use protocols.
Two name lines, two jobs

Why manufacturer ≠ named lab
A manufacturer or supplier string documents who supplied or manufactured the material for that report’s framing — it does not by itself prove that an independent laboratory issued the analytical results. “Third-party tested” is a documentation claim about a named lab on the COA for that lot (Academy 11 LIVE).
Document-or-delete applies:
- Lab name printed → you may record a named-lab certificate for that lot (and only then use narrow “third-party tested” language).
- Lab name blank → omit “third-party tested”; do not invent a lab from the manufacturer line or from reputation.
- Manufacturer printed, lab blank → copy manufacturer only; leave lab blank.
What to copy (and what not to upgrade)
When the certificate prints name lines, record for that lot:
- Manufacturer / supplier — exact string printed (if present).
- Lab — exact string printed (if present).
- Lot — matched to the vial.
- Product name and strength — as on the report.
- Method / identity / purity — only if those fields are separately printed — do not infer them from a lab or manufacturer name alone.
Do not upgrade a manufacturer letterhead into a lab claim. Do not upgrade a lab name into HPLC/MS method language unless those method words appear on the report.
Examples of lab names that may appear when printed
Certificates on file for Momentum Labs research lots have included lab names such as BioRegen, Vanguard, TESTIDES, Liquilabs, and Janoshik — examples of names that may appear when printed (same discipline as Academy 11 / Pack C How We Test / VERIFY). Cite these only as possible printed names, not as a claim that every SKU or every lot was tested by any one of them. A specific product–lot–lab triple belongs in notes only when that triple is printed on the matching COA and confirmed in VERIFY. Never invent a manufacturer–lab pair for a SKU.
